DESCRIPTION:Join dance artist Alexandrina Hemsley for a masterclass exploring movement for camera. Drawing from her film FOUNTAIN (2022)\, Alexandrina will share the motivations behind her screendance practice and offer a space to reflect on how a dancing body calls for the camera not as a tool of capture\, but as a witness. How can screendance empower performers to refuse capture and maintain agency in the act of being seen? Drawing from her interdisciplinary process\, the session will consider how the camera becomes a portal connecting dance to audiences. The session will include movement-based tasks\, creative writing\, and hands-on experimentation with the camera to explore these ideas in practice.
