SUMMARY:Ocean Colour Scene
DESCRIPTION:The Birmingham band’s story is already the stuff of legend: a rip-roaring rock’n’folk odyssey set to a backdrop of over 20 years of UK pop culture at its very best. \n have notched up nine albums\, three of which went Top 5 – 1996’s Moseley Shoals\, 1997’s Marchin’ Already\, and 1999’s One From The Modern – and a run of nine successive Top 20 hit singles commencing with 1996’s The Riverboat Song. They supported Oasis at their massive Knebworth shows that same year\, and two years later helmed the biggest arena tour of any UK band to date. Their achievements have been nothing short of phenomenal.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFrom their days as Breton-shirt wearing disciples of The Stone Roses (debut single ‘Sway’) to million selling Britpop superstars (‘Marchin’ Already’ bumped Oasis’ ‘What’s the Story’ from the top spot in 1997) to long-term touring allies with Paul Weller\, they have always stood shoulder to shoulder with the greats of modern British rock. \n\n\n\n\n\n2016 was a triumphant year for the band that included sold-out shows at The SSE Hydro in Glasgow\, 2 nights at the Millennium Square in Leeds to 12\,000 people\, a night at Times Square in Newcastle\, 2 nights at Moseley Park in Birmingham\, and a night at the Manchester Apollo. Unforgettable nights for everyone who was there.\n\n\n\nOCS played a series of sold-out Christmas shows in Nov / Dec 2108 with very special guests Martha Reeves & The Vandellas. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOne Night Only\nThis event is only on for one night!\nBuy tickets\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBuy direct from venues with ATG Tickets. \nTransparent booking fees\, no late stage surprises. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBar – Pre-show & interval drinks and snacks\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDoors open 19:00\n\nAge guidance: Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult. SUMMARY:MEG BIRD + POPPY PRESCOTT - SEASIDE TO CITY TOUR
DESCRIPTION:Join songwriters Poppy Prescott and Meg Bird for a special co-headline show at The Music Workshop.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBoth artists split their time between the seaside and London\, bringing their heartfelt songwriting to the coast and city as they travel and perform together. Expect an intimate evening of stories and melodies from two rising voices on the independent music scene. \nPoppy Prescott \nHastings-born singer-songwriter Poppy Prescott has a gift for drawing even the rowdiest crowds to silence with her soft\, soulful vocals and folk-style storytelling. Growing up surrounded by musicians\, she was performing live long before she was technically allowed in music venues. \nHighlights of her career include sold-out performances at The Troubadour and Two Palms\, festival appearances at WOMAD\, and scholarships to Richard Thompson’s New York guitar camp and Chris Difford’s songwriting retreat. \nWith guitar influences like Adrienne Lenker and Nick Drake\, and a love for Radiohead and Sam Amidon\, her sound blends introspection with experimentation. She performs alongside a stellar band: Dan McConkey (sax)\, Harry Osborne (bass)\, Keir Tyson (guitar)\, Liam Talbot (keys)\, and Josh Walker-Martin (drums). \nHer EPs Grand Gestures (2022) and Reasons Why (2023) earned airplay on BBC Radio 6 and praise from Tom Robinson. \nMeg Bird \nLondon-born and Margate-based\, Meg Bird is a singer-songwriter known for her emotionally rich songwriting\, soulful voice\, and whimsical lyricism. Blending jazz harmony with contemporary songwriting\, Meg explores complex themes with warmth\, humour\, and depth. \nHer music is equally at home in jazz clubs and grassroots venues. Whether accompanied by a full rhythm section or playing solo on keys\, Meg’s performances are immersive and story-driven\, shaped by her background in jazz and her love of language. \nA first-class graduate of the Guildhall School of Music\, Meg released her debut album Girls Like Lions in 2021\, earning praise and airplay on BBC Radio 3 and Jazz FM. In 2024\, she followed with a series of singles titled Of Hope\, showcasing her ever-evolving sound and artistry. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTICKET INFORMATION\n\n\n\n\n\nFrom £15.00\n\n\n\n\n\nGET TICKETS
