DESCRIPTION:Consisting of 70 voices and growing\, Folkestone Choral Society is one of the largest choirs in the area and draws members from as far afield as Deal\, Canterbury\, Ashford and Romney Marsh. We exist as a charitable organisation to bring the enjoyment of choral music sung to a high standard to the community of the Folkestone and Hythe District in Kent and to the many visitors to the area. Folkestone Choral Society rehearses every week during term time to prepare for at least three concerts a year always accompanied by professional orchestras and soloists. Our programmes range from the great oratorios to more modern composers. Some concerts also include popular concertos and orchestral pieces to complement the choral works. Ensemble Renard is the winner of some of the most prestigious awards including the Royal Academy of Music’s Nicholas Blake Prize for wind chamber music\, and a Tunnell Trust award.\n\nEnsemble Renard champion new music\, and so far in 2022 have premiered over ten new commissions. They have given a number of recitals at the Royal Academy of Music\, where they have worked with and learned from esteemed composers including Hans Abrahamsen and John Woolrich in preparation for performances of their repertoire. DESCRIPTION:The award-winning brass quintet who are currently Tillett Trust artists having already made their debut at the Lucerne Festival and London’s Wigmore Hall.
