This isn’t just about writing provocatively (though there’ll be plenty of that). It’s about finding the right language for power, tenderness, shame and connection. How do we navigate bodies on the page? What does sex writing reveal about your characters’ darker and lighter selves – or yours? What happens if we get it wrong… or gloriously, unexpectedly right?

Folkestone Book Festival is our annual celebration of books, bold ideas and the power of storytelling – by the sea.
