Cultural Art History – Mexico, Africa, Australia

This course will explore artists from around the world including artists across the ages, different cultures and styles of art. Students will find out about individual approaches, inspirations and influences. In addition, there will be the opportunity to discuss each artist’s contribution within the progression of art history.
Cultures will include African, Australian (Aboriginal) and Mexican.
- By the end of the course you should be able to:
- Demonstrate knowledge of the origins of art within different cultures
- Identify the characteristics specific cultures
- Recognise the art styles typical of the selected artists
- Develop and justify point of view
- Take part in discussion with other students
