Art for Beginners Mixed Media Painting

On this exciting course, you have the opportunity to explore a range of different mixed media and collage techniques. The emphasis will be on combining water-based media such as watercolour and acrylics, with a variety of drawing media, e.g. pencil, charcoal, pastels, etc. Reference will be made throughout the course to contemporary and historical artists who have used mixed media and collage techniques.
- By the end of this course you should be able to:
- Select and use a range of water-based painting media in combination with dry drawing media.
- Experiment with combinations of media and collage techniques.
- Explore formal elements (line, tone, colour, texture, etc.) to develop visual ideas.
- Produce a series of compositions that use mixed media and collage techniques.
- Work to health and safety guidelines.
There is no set ‘homework’, but you are welcome to practise and do further work at home.
There is no qualification for this course.
